Sierra Gives Back to Foothill Unity Center

Sierra Chevrolet associates got together on Friday, December 15th to give back to the community by volunteering at Foothill Unity Center’s Elf House in Irwindale, CA. It was a success and so much fun seeing some of the Sierra Chevrolet team work together to help make a difference. Every year, Foothill Unity Center, Inc. has 1,300 children who receive toys, books and clothes with their food baskets during the holiday season. This year, the Sierra Chevrolet team helped pack boxes of toys, stuffed animals, clothing and loaded bags of gifts that were then delivered to the Los Angeles Arboretum to be distributed to the families.

The Foothill Unity Center was founded in 1980 and is the primary provider of food, case management/crisis help, and access to health care resources across eleven San Gabriel Valley cities in Los Angeles County, California. As the federally designated Community Action Agency for the Foothill Area, the Foothill Unity Center operates two locations, in Monrovia and Pasadena, serving clients in Pasadena, Altadena, South Pasadena, Sierra Madre, Arcadia, Monrovia, Bradbury, Duarte, Azusa, Baldwin Park and Irwindale. 79% of the Foothill’s Unity Center’s clients are at or below the National Poverty Level. The number of people served by the organization has more than tripled over the last five years, making community funding contributions and volunteer support more critical than ever. Therefore, Sierra Chevrolet is happy to provide volunteer support to the Foothill Unity.
